The Smeal 8T hydraulic derrick will adapt to a wide range of pump work from small submersibles to big line shaft turbines. The 8T is designed to mount in a service bed or flatbed on a 1 ½ ton or larger truck. The shipping weight on the 8T is 5200 lbs.
The 8T mainline has a 7000 lb. single line pull at a maximum rated speed of 130 ft. per minute. The mainline has a 10 ¾" diameter drum which conforms with all OSHA requirements. The 8T mainline is equipped with two automatic fail safe brakes.
The operating controls for the 8T are conveniently mounted at the left rear corner of the rig and accessible from the ground level. The 8T is protected from any type of overloading or misuse by a hydraulic by-pass valve incorporated into the hydraulic system.
The 8T tailout winch has a 2000 lb. lifting capacity at 60 ft. per minute. Its primary purpose is to telescope the inside tower, but it also can be used for tailing out heavy column or pulling small submersible pumps.
The 8T cathead attachment is a hydraulically driven 6" diameter capstan mounted on the right rear corner of the rig. Capacity is rated at 1000 lbs. of pull at 150 maximum R.P.M. Pillow block bearing, vertically mounted roller is standard equipment The sandreel is hydraulically driven by a heavy duty orbit motor with 2 automatic fail safe brakes. The 8T sandreel is rated at 400 ft./minute with a bare spool line capacity of 2500 lbs. The sandreel can be operated power-up and power-down or free-fall down accomplished by a twin disk 2 ton truck clutch. The standard 8T sandreel will spool 800 ft. of ½" cable, or 1100 ft. of 7/16" or 1500 ft. of 3/8" cable. |
